ENGINE IDLING

You will have read in our last edition of Signals that SoGA is actively trying to highlight the issue of engine idling. The SoGA committee has been liaising with Ruth Cadbury MP, Bridget Osborne of the Chiswick Calendar, the Chiswick Riverside Councillors and Councillor Hanif Khan.

Ruth Cadbury MP is lobbying Central Government to do more to improve the quality of our air, while working with the London Mayor’s Office and Hounslow Council. Locally she is currently running a campaign to get commuters to reduce engine idling especially outside schools by pledging to turn off their car engine whilst stationery. You can sign the pledge at this link: https://ruthcadbury.org/content/anti-idling-pledge SoGA would encourage you to sign this pledge.
Further, we understand that Ruth is available this Thursday afternoon to campaign on Thames Road by the Strand Schools. Please would you let Ruth's office (telephone 020 7219 8590 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) know if you are able to attend in order to support (and if you are emailing her office please cc us on This email address is being protected from spambots. Thanks
Your SoGA committee
